New Moon Dates 2026

New Moon Lunation 0° to 45° Degrees ahead of the Sun

The Moon, is Earth’s only natural satellite, with a cycle of approximately 29.5 to 30 days long, is ruled by the astrological sign of Cancer, and exalted in the sign of Taurus. She passes through each zodiac sign in approximately every 2 ¼ – 2 ½ days.

During the New Moon phase, the Earth and the Sun are considered conjunct and in the same sign, and thus, are energetically joined together in a generally positive but powerful unison by a conjunct aspect.

In the darkness of a night sky she, in essence, moves to her debut spot between the Earth and the Sun. In this initial lunation stage, navigating her energy in the background of the night sky, darkened by her cloak of invisibility by the brightness of the Sun, and unseen to those who follow her illuminating brilliance, she will initiate a period of New Beginnings, a dynamism  for Starting Anew, Growth, and eventually, will emerge as a sliver of moonlight in the night sky.
