Full Moon Dates 2026

Full Moon Lunation 180° – 225°

The Moon, is Earth’s only natural satellite, with a cycle approximately 29.5 to 30 days long, is ruled by the astrological sign of Cancer, and exalted in the sign of Taurus. She passes through each zodiac sign in approximately every 2 ¼ – 2 ½ days and is Earth’s only natural satellite.

She is “mother”; she represents the infinite feminine energy; she rules our instincts, our emotions, our feelings, our intuition; our childhood; our subconscious. She is . . . . The Moon.

During the Full Moon phase, the Moon and the Sun are considered in a sometimes negatively charged and challenging energy by an opposing aspect, (as they are opposing each other), and thus, are energetically activating a potential for an active tension. However challenging the dynamic contrast of the opposition, there is a potential for compromise as resolution to this dynamic energy.

She dazzles, she is magical, and she mystifies those who see her fully bejeweled, in her ceremonial dress! She dresses in her best finery to mystify and mesmerize her spectators, just as she has done for thousands of years, once every 29 or 30 days into the Lunar Cycle.  She dazzles and captivates her audience as she dances and waxes towards her dazzling display of illumination to brighten the darkness of a night sky. Bedecked in brilliant hues of white lace and bridal satin she pauses once again, to take her place on the edge of the horizon, where she will reign again, to enchant and mystify those who see her.

When she has waxed to her maximum illumination and at 100% Full, the Full Moon lunation phase symbolizes completion. Her brilliant display will lie in repose, waiting again to be activated when the Sun and Moon are set to oppose each other in the darkness of the night sky, and she builds once again to the completeness and mesmerizing energy of the Full Moon.

*The Harvest Moon is the full Moon that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox. In 2026, this occurs in September. This is the month when the game is fattened up for winter. Now is the time for hunting and laying in a store of provisions for the long months ahead.*According to one tradition, which The Old Farmer’s Almanac honors, the Harvest Moon is always the full Moon that occurs closest to the September equinox. Most years, it falls in September; every three years, it falls in October. (Astronomical seasons do not match up with the lunar month.) If the Harvest Moon occurs in October, the September full Moon is usually called the Corn Moon instead. Similarly, the Hunter’s Moon always follows the Harvest Moon. (Note that these last two conditions are not according to Native American tradition.)
